Mrs. Megan Buyks

My name is Megan Buyks and I am very excited to be at St. Marguerite’s again this year and to be able to bring all my strengths to our school! I will be heading the athletics department, coaching and running the middle school PE program. Prior to teaching at St. Marguerite’s, I was a high school PE teacher, so it is great to be back in the gymnasium again! I am also very excited to be bringing a second languages program to our school.
I grew up on a farm east of Innisfail and graduated from Innisfail High School. I attended the University of Alberta where I got my Bachelor of Education degree with coursework included from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. I also have my master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia. I have experience teaching both high school and middle school, in English, Spanish and French, in addition to being a former instructor for the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta.
My husband and I farm west of Innisfail. We grow grain and potatoes, plus have lots of animals on the farm to keep our three children busy! Our family has been part of St. Marguerite’s since 2017 and I am very happy to be able to teach where my kids go to school.
